Mitra SK was established in 1938 by Late Santosh Kumar Mitra in Barbil, a mining centre in the state of Orissa in Eastern India. Over the years we have grown to cover various mines, ports, industries, utilities and export/import of commodities through 70 locations in India, Japan, China, South Korea, Indonesia, UAE, Oman, South Africa, Turkey, U.K., Brazil and Jordan. This list grows each year to serve our Customers needs in the global market.

Our Head Office is in Calcutta, India from where new laboratories and country operations are planned in new Countries. Since inception, the vision of the Company has been to provide accurate and prompt testing services wherever MSK serves Customers. Internationally MSK provides reliable and independent assessment of the quantity and quality of diverse commodities. MSK certificates are accepted worldwide for trade making it one of the leading international certification agencies.

Our core competence is the sampling and analysis of minerals , ores and products . Today, we have over 600 skilled people to offer a comprehensive package of services including inspection, sampling, supervision and laboratory analysis, stack assessment, technical consulting, marine and general surveys. Modern instrument based methods are offered from our own laboratories in the countries we offer LP and DP services . Environmental monitoring and microbiological testing are business developments that testify to the Company’s considerable scientific and laboratory skills of our Central Laboratory in Kolkata, India.
